Consumer information
Consumer withdrawal
These instructions concern qualifying consumer distance contracts for services. They are separate from asking to pause or end a project. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
Last updated: 5 November 2026
1. The withdrawal period
For qualifying online service contracts, consumers normally have 14 days from concluding the contract to withdraw without giving a reason. A clear withdrawal notice sent before that period expires is sufficient. The optional model notice below is not the only way to exercise the right.
These instructions do not shorten any longer period or other protection that applies by law, including consequences where the required withdrawal information was not supplied.
2. How to notify us
Send an unequivocal statement that you withdraw from the service contract to hello@designcheer.com. Include your name, the project or quote you are referring to, and enough contact information to identify the contract. A payment or invoice reference, or the email used for the project, can help. No reason for withdrawal is required.
You may also send your notice by post to Antonio Bortone, trading as DesignCheer, AV DOUTOR TEOFILO CARVALHO DOS SANTOS, N 194, AMADORA, 2720-111 AMADORA, Portugal.
Do not send a full card number, security code, banking password or identity-document copy with a withdrawal notice.
3. If you requested work during the withdrawal period
Before starting work during the withdrawal period, we must obtain your express request and the required acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is lost after full performance. You give these as two separate written statements when accepting the quote; giving them does not itself mean the service has been fully performed. If you prefer work to start after the withdrawal period, say so when accepting the quote so we can agree the start date and payment arrangements without an early-start request.
Where the legally required information and request have been provided, withdrawal can result in a lawful proportionate charge for the services actually supplied up to the time you notified us, assessed against the whole agreed contract. If the legally required early-start information or request is missing, we do not charge for work performed during that withdrawal period where the law bars that charge. There is no automatic percentage deduction or cancellation penalty.
Starting work alone does not remove the right of withdrawal. Loss of that right after full performance requires the legally required prior express consent and acknowledgement. Paying the deposit, sending a request or asking to pause or end a project does not by itself constitute such a waiver.
4. Refunds following withdrawal
Any refund required following a valid statutory withdrawal is made without undue delay and within 14 days of the withdrawal notice, subject to any deduction lawfully due for services already supplied. The original payment method is used unless another method is expressly and lawfully agreed; no fee is charged for that refund.
This is separate from a voluntary goodwill refund. Rights and remedies concerning services that do not conform to the contract remain unaffected.
5. Pausing or ending a project
Asking to pause or end a project is different from statutory withdrawal and does not by itself notify withdrawal or request a refund. For withdrawal, send a clear notice as described above. A monthly subscription started before 5 November 2026 can still be cancelled through the Stripe billing portal or by email to hello@designcheer.com.
